TEMPE, Ariz. -- It's around 2 a.m. and a 20-year-old victim walks to the elevator at the W6 in downtown Tempe to go home.

“The victim starts to walk in and the suspect out of nowhere starts to attack him,” said Sgt. Darren Burch with Silent Witness.

It was a relentless attack that continued even when the victim was knocked unconscious and defenseless.

“This is what's referred to as an aggravated assault because the victim sustained such severe damage to his face, numerous facial fractures,” said Sgt. Burch.

Sgt. Burch said the suspect then tears the victim's earring out and leaves it on the ground.

“We have great video, good surveillance both from the lobby as well as inside the elevator, so we have good pictures of the suspect, we also have good pictures of some other individual, a black male who may have been with the suspect before, but definitely after the crime, you can see the two leaving together,” said Sgt. Burch.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20's, about 6 feet tall, medium build with short brown hair. He was wearing a blue t-shirt with an unknown white logo at the time.

If you can identify him, you're urged to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS and if it's the right guy, you could earn up to $1,000 in reward money.
