GLENDALE, Ariz. – Police are investigating after finding a 16-year-old girl by a Glendale street who may have been pushed or thrown from a car.

Officers responded to the 6700 block of West Ocotillo Road Wednesday just after 7 p.m. in reference to a possible car crash involving injuries near the San Martin apartment complex.

When police arrived on scene, their investigation revealed the teen had either been thrown or pushed out of an unknown type of car, although it is unclear whether there was more than one person in the vehicle.

The victim, a sophomore at Independent High School, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

Police say they believe the girl was either abducted or lured into the suspect's vehicle. They are not sure whethere she tried to escape the car and jumped out or if she was physically pushed out of the vehicle.

Glendale detectives spoke with Peoria police in regard to an attempted abduction that took place earlier this week, but police do not believe the incidents are connected.

Anyone with information on this latest crime is asked to call police at 623-930-3000.
