SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Scottsdale police arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo Bank on Tuesday.

Scottsdale police were called to the Wells Fargo inside the Safeway at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Thompson Peak Parkway after a robbery was reported at approximately noon.

Witnesses said a tall white male in his mid-20s wearing a white dress shirt and tie entered the bank, placed a bag on the counter and demanded cash.

According to the Scottsdale Police Department, the teller complied and the man fled on foot.

As police officers searched the area, employees at the nearby Jiffy Lube said that a person fitting the suspect's description was inside their shop acting strangely. The person called a cab and left.

Detectives contacted the cab company and confirmed that a driver picked up someone recently at the Jiffy Lube and took him to the McCormick & Schmick's restaurant near Scottsdale and Double Tree Ranch roads.

Detectives found and examined the cab. They reportedly recovered evidence of the robbery left inside the vehicle.

Officers arrived at the restaurant and took the suspect, Robert Solfisburg, into custody as he was leaving.

According to police, Solfisburg was found to be in possession of money from the robbery. He was positively identified by the teller and witnesses and booked on one count of robbery.
