PHOENIX -- When a beauty fad gains trend status, a crop of new products flood the beauty shelves to help you recreate the looks at home. Here are the top of the crop.

The blowout. Offering only blowouts and styles, blow dry bars have taken the Valley by storm. You can give yourself a professional-looking, lasting blowout with the proper tools.

Try: Drybar's new line of styling tools and products. Available at Drybar locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale and thedrybar.com.

Tips: The Drybar Hold Me Hair Clips (four for $16) are a must to help you to dry small sections of hair at a time. To extend your style, invest in a shower cap with a terry lining and use a Tassi to keep hair in place but away from face when cleansing or applying makeup. Tassis are available at select salons and at tassicompany.com for $14.99.

The spray tan. There's no tan like a safe tan. Tanning beds and lounging by the pool ages your skin. (Yes, it's been proved!) Airbrush spray tans and spray tanning booths give you a bronzed look without the damage. The new crop of natural-looking instant bronzers and self-tanning sprays allow to recreate the look at home.

Try: LORAC TANtalizer Body Bronzing Spray ($32 at Sephora and sephora.com), which comes with a applicator puff to blend and buff away extra product.

Tip: Use a tan applicator mitt or a soft wash cloth to dab your elbows, knees, ankles and anywhere you've overdone it to avoid dark spots. Mitts are available at Sephora starting at $6.50.

Lash extensions. From pricey lash growth serums to semi-permanent eyelash extensions, salons and spas are catering to our lust for long lashes. Go long on your own with the new eyelash extending mascaras. These products contain tiny microthreads that attach to the lash.

Try: Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension Kit, $35 at Ulta stores and ulta.com. Tip: Always curl your lashes before applying this product and invest in a gentle eye makeup remover to thoroughly remove the layers (it can be a bit sticky with just soap and water).

Nail art. Salons are taking nail art to chic and artistic heights. You don't have to be an artist to recreate these looks at home thanks to the new bedazzling selection of nail appliques and polish strips.

Try: Essie Sleek Stick Nail Appliques. Available at most drugstores and essie.com for $10.

Tip: If you're nursing your nails back to health after wearing acrylics or gels, nail appliques are a great way to keep nails covered without further damage. The new Salon Effects French Mani Nail Polish Strips from Sally Hansen look natural and last at least a week for most people. $12 at most drugstores.
