PEORIA, Ariz. -- Peoria police are searching for a man who stole oxycodone from a grocery store pharmacy near 83rd Avenue and Cactus Road on June 12.

Police said the suspect was wearing a disposable mask when he approached the pharmacy counter just before 1 p.m. He told the employee it was a robbery and demanded all the oxycodone.

Peoria police spokeswoman Amanda Jacinto said the suspect then held his right hand under his shirt near his chest where the victim believed he had a weapon.

After getting oxycodone, the suspect ran out of the store, taking off the mask while exiting.

Witnesses saw the suspect leave northbound on 83rd Avenue in a black Chevy pickup truck, possibly extended cab.

Jacinto said the suspect appears to be a black man in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a skinny build and "soft spoken." He was wearing a baseball hat, dark T-shirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Peoria Police Department at 623-773-7045 or PDTips@peoriaaz.gov. Contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS to remain anonymous.
