PHOENIX -- If you're in the Valley, it’s time pull out the grills, patio furniture and dare I say… swimsuits. Going to a spring training game? No problem!
High pressure is moving into the area from the west and will have a firm grip on our weather pattern through the beginning of next week. Expect abundant sunshine statewide through Saturday with gradual warming through next week.
Valley highs for Thursday will reach the low 70s, which is normal for this time of year. On Friday, tack on another five degrees. By the weekend, the 80s will make a comeback, and we’re not talking about the big hair or music.
On Sunday, NASCAR day, we’ll see an increase in cloud cover as a disturbance brushes to our north. The mountains may see a few showers.
Afternoon temperatures for the high country start off in the 40s Thursday then warm to the 50s through the weekend.
Next week starts off sunny, dry and unseasonably warm. By the middle of next week, we may see our temperatures drop a few degrees, with a small potential for rain by the end of next week. It’s still too early for any late week forecast details to be set in stone, so stay tuned.
