PRESCOTT -- A Prescott man was arrested for child abuse after his 9-month-old son showed signs of shaken baby syndrome.

Enrique Soto and his wife, both 19, took their son to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center on October 7 because he had a seizure and was unresponsive. The baby was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center where he underwent surgery for two subdural brain bleeds. During surgery, doctors discovered additional internal bleeding in the baby's head, indicating signs of abusive head trauma consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

The baby was later released to his mother, who does not live with Soto.

While being interviewed by detectives Soto admitted shaking the baby on several occasions.

Soto was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Camp Verde Jail on one count of child abuse and one count of aggravated assault on a minor.
