PHOENIX  -- A quiet weather pattern is settling into Arizona as the moisture from the summer thunderstorm season begins its annual exodus. For the rest of this week, we’ll continue to see isolated thunderstorms in eastern AZ but the Valley will stay quiet.

We’ll also see temperatures above average continuing with some relief by the weekend. The high Monday at Sky Harbor Airport was 106 degrees, close to the record of 109. However, after Tuesday’s forecast of 105 degrees, we do expect temperatures to moderate for the rest of the week. It’s possible by the weekend we’ll see highs in the 90s.

When is the last of the triple digit temperatures? That’s easy: The third week of October. That’s when history tells us you can we sure that we’re done with highs above the century mark. Unless we start making some new history.
