PHOENIX -- Police are searching for two persons of interest who may have information about the shooting of a taxicab driver in August.

According to police, the victim was shot in the face after driving a male and a female passenger from 28th Drive and Sweetwater Avenue in Phoenix to the Studio 6 Motel at Union Hills Drive and 27th Avenue at approximately 5 a.m. on Aug. 13.

Police said the cab driver and passengers argued about the fare prior to the shooting. The driver sustained serious injuries to his jaw, but they were not life-threatening.

The two suspects fled from the scene without paying for the fare and police have not been able to locate them.

The suspects are described as a male and female, both 16 to 20 years old.

Police have released unrelated store surveillance video and photos that show two unidentified subjects who minutes earlier were in the area of the pick-up location. Police said these persons of interest may have information about the shooting and also match the suspects' general descriptions.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or silentwitness.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered in the case.
