PHOENIX – Police are looking for suspects involved in a fatal shooting following an altercation outside a liquor store.

Police say Laurence Lee Lawrence, 16, and two friends entered the Grand Stop liquor store in the 3700 block of West McDowell Road Monday at about 10 p.m.

When the group exited the store, police say Lawrence and a friend were confronted by four suspects who challenged them to a fight. Lawrence and his friend walked away and left in their vehicle.

Police say the suspects followed the victim in their car, described as a dark gray Chevy pickup. The suspects allegedly fired several rounds at the victim and his friends as they approached the 3700 block of West Lynwood Avenue.

Lawrence was struck and died as a result of the gunshot wounds after being taken to the hospital.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call police or 480-WITNESS.
