SAN LUIS, Ariz. -- A San Luis police lieutenant has been arrested amid allegations of stalking and unlawful imprisonment.

The San Luis Police Department asked the Yuma County Sheriff's Office to assist with an investigation into alleged criminal misconduct on the part of Lt. Gerardo Torres, 41.

A 19-year-old woman alleged Torres was stalking her and had detained her against her will during an illegal traffic stop.

The sheriff's office conducted an investigation and said evidence corroborated the victim's allegations.

Torres was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Jail on charges of stalking, unlawful imprisonment and misconduct with weapons.
