Motorcyclist dies after colliding with pickup truck

PHOENIX -- A motorcyclist died after colliding with a pickup truck near Bell Road and 42nd Avenue Monday afternoon.

According to police, the motorcyclist was westbound on Bell Road when he was hit by a pickup truck making a left turn onto Bell from 42nd Avenue.

Police say Rick Murry, 58, was not wearing a helmet and died as a result of his injuies.

The identity of the 22-year-old truck driver has not been released.

Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said alcohol might have been involved and tests were administered. The results will not be known for several days.
