PHOENIX -- At least 250 Arizonans ran in the Boston Marathon on Monday. Other Arizonans sat on the sidelines cheering on the runners.

One of those on the sideline was Anne Wallack who co-owns the Runner's Den in Phoenix.

Wallack described the bombing and aftermath as "sad."

Hours after the bombing she described the streets as "unfamiliar" because normally after races city personnel clean the race space. But on Monday, hours after the race, that wasn't the case.

"There is still trash all over the streets and empty bags left everywhere and everything is blocked off and there are armed guards, swat team members and police at every corner," said Wallack.

She has participated in the run twice before and plans on purposely returning next year.

Wallack is scheduled to fly back to Phoenix Tuesday night.
