PHOENIX -- There are only three dog racing parks left in the state, but by the end of Saturday that number will be down to two.

Phoenix Greyhound Park first opened in 1954, but it won't be around to welcome 2010.

The park near Washington and 40th streets runs live races every day of the week, but Saturday's live competitions will be the park's last. Simulcast races will run through Dec. 31.

The park says it has faced a variety of challenges recently, including competition from casinos, declining revenues and fewer visitors.
