CHANDLER -- An out-of-control vehicle narrowly missed hitting a Department of Public Safety officer investigating an accident in Chandler Tuesday morning.

DPS officers were investigating a fender bender in the gore point of the westbound San Tan Loop 202 to northbound Loop 101 when they heard some screeching.

The officers saw an out-of-control red car coming their way and ran for cover.

DPS spokesman Officer Robert Bailey said the car struck a DPS motorcycle, but no officers were hit. A motorist involved in the original collision was clipped by the vehicle and reportedly has an injured leg.

The driver of the red car will be cited for failure to control her vehicle.

If your guys' assumption is correct, will DPS subpoena her cell records to prove it? Time will tell.
