PHOENIX -- Friday was hot... REAL hot.
Undoubtedly, many people had to go without air conditioning for one reason or another on the hottest day of the year. One Phoenix woman told 3TV what it was like to be without electricity for 30-plus hours.
Marisela Valadez’s electricity went out about 9 a.m. Thursday. She spent the night in her sweltering apartment and by the time 3TV met with her on Friday afternoon, parts of her apartment measured over 100 degrees.
Inside her refrigerator a laser thermometer said the temperature was up over 80 degrees, meaning all her food was spoiled. She had to shoo the flies away every time she opened the fridge door.
Eventually, with help from APS, maintenance figured out a breaker had gone bad and fixed the problem.
