PHOENIX (AP) - The City of Phoenix is launching a new public prescription drug discount card program.
The city announced Wednesday the new Coast2Coast Rx card will allow anyone, regardless of income, age or health status, to participate and save on the cost of medications.
The Rx card is free and may be used at all pharmacy chains and most independent pharmacies in Phoenix and throughout the nation.
It includes more than 60,000 drugs.
Mayor Phil Gordon says prescription drug discounts will help ease some of the financial burden Phoenix families are facing.
The city says the Coast2Coast Rx card is available at most participating pharmacies, city of Phoenix libraries, community centers, public golf courses, senior centers and customer service counters.
