ELOY, Ariz. -- Monsoon season is in full swing. Eloy, a town halfway between Tucson and Phoenix, got hit by a big storm on Monday. Roads were flooded, some even closed, and cars got stuck in ditches.

National Weather Service meteorologists say storms dropped nearly three inches of rain Monday on parts of Eloy. "It lay in a film of water within 15 minutes, " said Ricardo Rios, Eloy resident.

The stormy weather only lasted about an hour, but it was long enough to soak some homes. "It was seeping through our front door. We got water in our house so we put up some towels," said Keith Castorena.

But it wasn't all bad. Some kids took advantage of the rare sight by catching frogs.

The city is getting ready for another storm if one hits. Residents can pick up free sandbags at three locations:
1. Across the street from Toltec Fire Station: Toltec Rd & Giles St.
2. Circle K: Corner of Frontier St. & Eleven Mile Corner Rd.
3. City of Public Works Facility: Corner of Eleven Mile Corner Rd. & Houser Rd.

There were no immediate reports of any injuries or evacuations.
