PHOENIX -- Several hundred APS customers lost power Wednesday evening when a microburst hit parts of north Phoenix.

Nearly 1,700 customers were left without electricity, as heavy winds and trees did damage to power lines.

APS said the power outage ranged from Villa Theresa down to Greenway Road, and from 3rd Avenue all the way to 19th Avenue.

At Bell Honda at 7th Avenue and Bell Road trees fell onto cars in the lot, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

“Windows were shaking real bad, all the light poles were rocking back and forth pretty hard,” said Bell Honda employee Robert Patch.

Power was eventually restored before 9 p.m., but not before Mother Nature sent another reminder that monsoon season isn’t quite over.
