MESA -- The Mesa Police Department is searching for two teens who were reported missing by their families.

Shawntaea Amos, 13, and Diamond Blanton, 14, were reported missing on Wednesday after they failed to return home from school.

Police say the teens are friends and attend Carson Junior High School.

According to police, the girls were last seen together in the area of Main Street and Extension Road in Mesa late Monday evening.

The parents of both girls told police that there was no reason for them to run away and are extremely worried for their welfare.

Shawntaea is described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black sweatpants and a red-and-white striped shirt.

Diamond is described as black, 5 feet tall, 114 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing DK skinny jeans, a black hooded jacket with fur on the hood, and white Nike high-top Blazers with a black Nike symbol. Her hair is in a weave with braids and she wears bangs. She suffers from asthma and does not have her inhaler with her.

If you have seen either of these girls, you are asked to contact the Mesa Police Department or your local law enforcement agency immediately.
