MESA -- A man on parole was arrested Thursday for a robbery at a Mesa bank.

According to the Mesa Police Department, a man robbed the Compass Bank near Stapley and University drives shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect, identified as Anthony Blake Gosney, presented a demand note then left the bank on foot with the money.

Officers found Gosney a few minutes later in a nearby alley.

Mesa police Detective Michael Melendez said Gosney was released from the Department of Corrections on Nov. 5 and is on parole for robbery.

Melendez said all of the money and the suspect's disguise clothing were located.
