GILBERT, Ariz. – Police say a robbery led to a murder outside a Circle K in Gilbert Aug. 26.
Stefen Selvy, 21, was charged with the murder of 36-year-old Bobby Baughman.
Investigators say Selvy had just purchased alcohol when Baughman robbed him in the parking lot, hitting him in the head with a wrench.
Selvy then allegedly shot Baughman in the chest, killing him.
After a thorough investigation of the evidence, police say Selvy's actions appear to be legally justified.
Sgt. Bill Balafas with the Gilbert Police Department said Selvy was released from custody and no charges were filed by the County Attorney's office.
