SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Scottsdale police said a 30-year-old man admitted robbing a bank because he needed money to move out of his parents' home.
According to the Scottsdale Police Department, a man wearing a black Nike baseball cap with "Witness" on it robbed a Bank of America near Hayden Road and Thompson Peak Parkway on Dec. 20. Surveillance cameras captured the heist.
The suspect got away with close to $1,200.
Scottsdale police received numerous calls from people identifying the bank robbery suspect as Adam Ramsower. One caller told police that Ramsower was on a bus headed to Las Vegas.
According to court paperwork, he lost all the money gambling.
Two days later, Ramsower became remorseful and turned himself in to Las Vegas police. He took a bus back to Phoenix on Dec. 26 and surrendered to Scottsdale officers. He was booked on one count of robbery.
According to court paperwork, Ramsower told police that he robbed the bank because he needed money and wanted to move out of his parents' house and get out on his own.
Ramsower reportedly told police that he gambled the money in an attempt to get more.
