2 persons of interest sought in fatal shooting west of Phoenix

AGUILA, Ariz. -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Homicide Unit is looking for two persons of interest in a homicide in the town of Aguila, Ariz., which is west of Wickenburg.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. Monday, the sheriff's office received a 911 call of a shooting just south of U.S. 60 outside Aguila.

Deputy Lindsey Smith said there was an altercation and Edward Michael Moreno, 34, was fatally shot near Hector and Seventh streets.

Corey Austin Ainslie, 25, has been identified as an investigative lead and is wanted for questioning in this shooting.

Ainslie is described as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 245 to 265 pounds with short red hair and a red goatee.

Smith said the other person of interest is a white male in his mid-20s.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white 2006 Dodge crew cab flatbed pickup truck with Idaho license plate 2G2819T. The truck was towing a 1989 white horse trailer carrying two horses. The trailer had an Idaho license plate of 35UST.

Anyone with information about the shooting or Ainslie's whereabouts is asked to contact the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
