GLOBE, Ariz. -- The Gila County Sheriff's Office has arrested the man behind the the slap and punch in the face that has a lot of Facebook users talking.
A man, now identified as Jason Moss, was caught on surveillance video hitting a woman Sunday morning while she was holding a child and a puppy.
Bobby Brown of Globe, east of Phoenix, posted the video online. Brown's girlfriend is the woman in the video. Moss, the man seen in the video, is her estranged husband.
At the time, the woman was holding the 2-year-old son she shares with Brown. She suffered a broken nose, a chipped tooth and a black eye.
"That shouldn't be anything my son would ever have to see," Brown said.
The video of Moss was shared with the Gila County Sheriff's Office.
Gila County deputies originally were unable to locate Moss, but they caught up with him Monday evening and arrested him in connection with the incident seen in the video.
Before deputies took Moss into custody, Brown's girlfriend was worried about what else he might do.
"If he steps foot on my property I will have to protect my family at all costs," Brown said. "Whether I have to go to prison or not I will protect my family."
Moss was released from prison last year on drug-related charges.
He now faces charges of abuse, domestic violence and child endangerment.
