CASA GRANDE, Ariz. -- The Casa Grande Police Department arrested a man suspected of breaking into a 92-year-old woman's home and sexually assaulting her, according to a release.
On April 23 at approximately 3:00 a.m., a woman was sexually assaulted in her Casa Grande home. Police believe the suspect forced entry into the home through a side door before entering the woman's bedroom, where she was sleeping, and sexually assaulting her.
The victim fled her home and ran to a neighbor's house, where the neighbors immediately called 911.
During the investigation, police followed a lead about a person who matched the suspect's description and may have made sexual advances to another elderly woman. This led police to identify Alfred M. Otero, 20, of Casa Grande as their lead in the investigation.
Detectives got a court order to take a DNA sample of Otero and submitted it to the Department of Public Safety crime lab. Yesterday, the police department received the results from the lab and determined that it matched the evidence at the crime scene.
Otero was taken into custody and booked. He is expected to face charges of sexual assault, burglary and aggravated assault.
