PHOENIX -- It looks like today will be our warmest day of the new week ahead.  In the Valley, we'll likely see the mercury rise to about 113 degrees today.  That's just two degrees away from the record for today's date, 115 degrees set back in 1985.

Normal for this time of year is about 107 degrees.

Look for partly sunny skies today and tomorrow, then an increased chance of monsoon storms late Wednesday through Saturday.

Our high-pressure ridge will shift to the Four Corners area by mid-week, which will help to import some mid- and high-level monsoon moisture into Arizona.

In the lower levels, we'll look for a moisture boost from remnants of Tropical Storm Erick, which is losing strength but moving near the tip of the Baja Peninsula today.  Although it will move northwest out to sea, we could still get a boost from the nearby moisture that moves up the Gulf of California.
