PHOENIX -- With hundreds of thousands of uninsured Arizonans planning to enroll in the Affordable Care Act over the next 10 weeks, a small army is prepared to help them choose the right plan.
"We're really excited," Al Leafman of Health Insurance Express told 3TV.
He transformed a Mesa storefront into a one-stop shop for health care.
"The insurance industry creates a lot of jargon that makes it sound like a foreign language, but we act as translators and speak in plain English," Leafman said.
His staff, located at the corner of Southern Avenue and Power Road in Mesa, is prepared to consult one-on-one and in groups for enrollees on Tuesday. Their services are free.
Other "navigators," trained to help with enrollment are available at the Greater Phoenix Urban League offices at 1402 S. Seventh Ave. in Phoenix.
The Arizona Association of Community Health Centers, along with Campesinos Sin Fronteras, also received grants to train "navigators" and are ready to help anyone with questions.
