PHOENIX -- Investigators are trying to determine what sparked an early morning apartment fire in Phoenix.

Crews were called out to the two-story complex at 29th Street and Osborn Road at about 4:30 Monday morning.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a a fully involved unit on the second floor.

"It was a fast-moving fire," said Capt. Dorian Jackson of the Phoenix Fire Department. "They were able to contain it to that apartment, with a little damage to the apartment [next door]."

Residents said they saw flames shooting from the back of the apartment.

Jackson said five people, including a 2-year-old, were staying in the apartment. All of them got out safely.

No injuries were reported.
