PHOENIX -- The FBI is seeking the public's help identifying the "High Country Bandits," who say they have robbed six banks across northern Arizona.
During the robberies one suspect points a semi-automatic handgun at the teller and demands money, according to police. After taking the money he orders everyone to the ground and leaves with another suspect.
The first suspect is described as a white male, 30s-40s, about 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slight build. He was wearing dark clothing, gloves, a baseball cap, sunglasses, a mask that covers at least the lower half of his face and a bomber-style leather jacket. His voice is described as being deep, rough or raspy. Police do not have a description of the suspect he leaves with.
The following credit union and banks have been robbed:
- Sept. 8: Bank of the West, 1945 Highway 260, Heber;
- Oct. 14: Arizona Central Credit Union, 1948 S. Woodland Village Blvd., Flagstaff
- Oct. 30: Country Bank, 3044 N. Glassford Hill Road, Prescott Valley
- Nov. 25: Compass Bank, 613 S. Beeline Highway, Payson
- Dec. 3: Chase Bank, 5305 S. Superstition Mtn Drive, Gold Canyon
- Dec. 4: Compass Bank, 781 E. White Mountain Blvd., Pinetop
