TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has cast her vote in Tuesday's general election.
Giffords walked into the Pima County Recorder's Office in Tucson to drop off her mail-in ballot Monday afternoon.
She was accompanied by her former assistant, Democratic Rep. Ron Barber, who's running in the race for Congressional District 2 against Republican Martha McSally.
Barber is going for a full term after decidedly winning a special election in June to replace Giffords.
Giffords still is recovering from a gunshot wound to the head that she suffered in January 2011 while holding a meet-and-greet with constituents outside a Tucson supermarket.
She's been undergoing extensive rehabilitation for her injuries.
