CHANDLER -- A man accused of raping young girls in Chandler will spend the rest of his life behind bars, according to Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas.

Detectives say DNA linked Santana Batiz-Aceves, 41, to seven attacks on girls between 12 and 15 years old in 2006 and 2007. Five were sexually assaulted. Batiz-Aceves was arrested in January 2008.

On Monday, Batiz-Aceves, the so-called "Chandler Rapist," pleaded guilty to five counts each of molestation and sexual conduct with a minor and one count each of aggravated assault and attempted sexual assault.

Batiz-Acevez originally faced 47 charges, but the remaining counts were dropped under a plea deal.

Under the plea agreement, Batiz-Aceves will spend 168 years in prison.

Batiz-Acevez will officially be sentenced on April 2.
