PHOENIX – Rock singer Bret Michaels has been released from the hospital following heart surgery.
Michaels was released from St. Joseph’s Hospital Wednesday after successfully undergoing a procedure Monday to repair a hole in his heart.
Doctors found the hole in April when Michaels was treated for a brain hemorrhage.
Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Mansour Assar says, “Bret’s procedure had excellent results. Because of the successful outcome and Bret’s determination, I believe he will be able to return to normal activity within weeks.”
The hospital could not release specific details on Michaels’ health or medical care but doctors say the closure device will stay in his heart permanently.
Michaels attended last weekend’s Barrett-Jackson car auction event in Scottsdale where he auctioned off a 1969 Camaro.
