PHOENIX -- The 258th Engineer Company of the Arizona Army National Guard returned home from Afghanistan Friday afternoon.

The 140 soldiers who are a part of the 258th Engineer Company arrived at the R.C. Allen Readiness Center following their transit from Fort Bliss, Texas.

The 258th Engineer Company has been deployed twice in the past seven years. During their most recent mission they handled forward operating base deconstruction and base transfers.

They also took on route repair, force protection, and base maintenance. The engineers completed more than 60 missions while overseas, and were able to complete all of their missions under budget and ahead of schedule.

There are still more than 475 Arizona Army and Air National Guard members serving on federal active duty overseas and within the United States.
