BUCKEYE - A man is dead and another injured after an early morning rollover wreck near Buckeye on the I-10 and Verrado Way.

Department of Public Safety Officer Burnell Trimble said at 4 a.m. a pick-up truck was traveling westbound near Milepost 120 when it drifted off to the right.

The driver apparently over-corrected and hit a guard rail causing the truck to roll about 20 feet down the embankment.

The driver died on scene and the passenger who was sleeping in the back of the truck cab was ejected and became trapped underneath the truck.

Once freed the passenger was talking to the medics and was able to walk away from the crash, being transported to St. Joes with unknown injuries.

Investigators believe alcohol may be a factor, but investigators are still on scene.

The right lane is expected to be closed until around 8 a.m. for the investigation.

Apparently the two in the pick-up were on their way home.
