TEMPE, AZ - Tempe police say a 20-year-old Arizona State University student died after accidentally falling from the balcony of her fifth-floor apartment.

Investigators have identified the student as Clare E. Morris.

It happened around 11 p.m. Friday at an apartment building located on Apache Boulevard east of McClintock Drive.

Police say Morris, who is from Colorado Springs, Colo., was transported to a local hospital where she pronounced dead.

Morris was majoring in justice studies. Her parents are Robert and Angela Morris of Colorado Springs. According to The Associated Press, Robert Morris is an ASU graduate and his daughter had been awarded a legacy scholarship from the university's alumni association.

While foul play is not suspected, detectives do believe alcohol impairment was a factor in Morris' deadly fall.
