PHOENIX (AP) — The U.S. Attorney's Office announced Thursday that a Phoenix man has pleaded guilty in federal court to unlawful possession of 26 pipe bombs.
Prosecutors said 62-year-old Michael Roy Turney admitted he illegally possessed the pipe bombs discovered during a search of his Phoenix home.
Phoenix police executed a search warrant at Turney's residence on Dec. 11, 2008 and found the pipe bombs, three incendiary devices and a silencer.
The devices were not registered as required by federal law.
When he's sentenced, Turney could get 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both.
Attempts to reach Turney were not successful.
