GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Housing counselors and representatives from lenders will be available to help homeowners facing foreclosure at an event in Glendale on Thursday.
The federal government's Making Home Affordable program is sponsoring the event at the Glendale Civic Center. It runs from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payments will be able to meet with lenders and counselors approved by the federal Housing and Urban Development Department. It is important to bring the appropriate paperwork, such as mortgage documents, tax returns and other financial documents.
The Making Home Affordable program is designed to stabilize the housing market and help up to 9 million Americans reduce their monthly mortgage payments to more affordable levels.
