FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a body found on ranch land in Coconino County has been positively identified as that of a man missing since late last year.
The county Sheriff's Office says 53-year-old Robert Lee Watts was reported missing on Dec. 28. He reportedly left his Kaibab Estates West home on Dec. 26 to drive to a store in nearby Ashfork.
Investigators searched the route from Watts' home to the store but found nothing. A man's body was found Thursday by a rancher inspecting a fence line about 10 miles from Watts' home.
Detectives say photo identification on the body helped them identify Watts and there's no evidence to indicate foul play. An investigation into the death is continuing.
Authorities say the keys to Watts' car were found in his pocket but the vehicle has yet to be located.
