TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A Tucson mother and a neighbor are facing charges after they were indicted in connection with a kidnapping hoax.
Tucson police said the mother, Miranda Padilla, knew where her daughters were the entire time.
The 11 and 13-year-old girls were turned over to police two weeks ago after being gone for eight days.
The day after their disappearance, the girls' mother was featured on TV begging for her girls' safe return.
Padilla and her neighbor, Lidia Miranda face four felony counts including the obstruction of a criminal investigation.
Padilla denies any involvement with her daughters' disappearance.
Padilla's attorney, Mike Bloom, said Tuesday that both women are due in court for an arraignment on January 6th.
