MESA, Ariz. -- The Maricopa County Animal Care and Control is trying to find homes for some of their long-term residents and adopters will not have to pay any adoption fees thanks to a donor.
The shelter has been attempting to find homes for its more than 500 dogs all summer with various promotions. One donor decided to help the animals out by paying the adoption fees for 75 dogs, meaning whoever they go home with will get them for free.
The dogs that need homes the most are the shelter's long-term residents, according to MCACC's Melissa Gable. Some dogs have been at the shelter since as early as February. All of the dogs at MCACC are spayed or neutered.
