PHOENIX -- The search is intensifying tonight for an escaped convict.

He has vanished and police are warning the entire Valley.

The Sheriff's Office says they think Adrian Cruz may still be in the Valley.

Adrian Cruz is described as a serial rapist and a man who is considered very dangerous but hasn't been seen since his escape a little over two weeks ago.

Police are calling him a very dangerous sexual predator.

He has been convicted of raping and impregnating a 9-year-old girl and is serving a life sentence.

He is on trial for two more rapes.

No one seems to know where he is, but he was last seen escaping from Maricopa County Superior Court.

"He has nothing to lose," says Doug Matteson of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

"We don't know if he's out frequenting areas here and trying to gain relationships with any possible innocent people that don't know his past and that's what we're afraid of."

It's the reason why law enforcement wants you to remember his face.

He has an enormous scar across his stomach, a tattoo of a cross and rosary on his left hand and middle finger, and front teeth capped with silver metal.

Since he is undocumented and has no money, detectives believe he may be hanging out around day laborers trying to get work, visiting homeless shelters, and gay night clubs or bars.

Detectives won't confirm any sightings but they are working closely with U.S. Marshals who have made contact with Cruz's family living south of Mexico City.

Investigators are hoping the public can help them find him before anyone else gets hurt.

The Sheriff's Department won't comment on how Cruz was able to escape or any changes that have been made at the courthouse.

They are only saying that it is an ongoing investigation.

They are again asking for people's help in locating this predator.
