UPDATE: The mother, Laura Lopez, has been released from the hospital and booked in jail for injuring her three children in a vehicle accident earlier this month.

Her three children in the car at the time of the crash have been released from the hospital and are recovering at home with their father.
PHOENIX -- Police believe alcohol was a factor in a South Phoenix wreck that sent three young children and their mother to the hospital early Monday morning.
It happened at about 3 a.m. on 19th Avenue between Lower Buckeye and Broadway roads.
According to firefighters, the 28-year-old mother was behind the wheel when she crossed the center line. Her car slammed into a brick wall.
She and her three children, ages 5, 8 and 9, were all taken to local hospitals. Their conditions ranged from serious to critical.
All three kids reportedly were in the back seat of the car. Firefighters said at least two of them were not wearing seat belts.
