PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) — A helicopter has been seen harassing a pronghorn antelope in northern Yavapai County.
The state Game and Fish Department said it is investigating archery hunters' report that they saw the helicopter chasing and herding the pronghorn on Aug. 22 and 23.
The department said herding or harassing wildlife violates a state Game and Fish rule and could also violate a federal law on airborne hunting.
The department says investigators served a search warrant at a ranch for a helicopter and its GPS tracking information.
However, the Daily Courier (http://bit.ly/1vUYJJc ) reports that department spokesman Bill Andres declined to say whether the pronghorn was injured, whether the antelope was chased on the ranch where the helicopter was located or to provide the name of the ranch or identification numbers on the helicopter.
