TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Tucson firefighters rescued a father and 8-year-old daughter when they were trapped by knee-deep water in a flooded wash during a storm.
Firefighters stood in a line to reach the pair, first walking back to shore in a group with the girl and then with the father.
The Fire Department says the rescue occurred Sunday when the father and daughter entered the wash in their neighborhood before water quickly rose, forcing them to take refuge in a tree.
Neither required medical treatment.
Strong wind from the storm downed numerous trees and power poles, knocking out power to parts of the city.
