CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a young mother almost four years ago in Chandler.
Lindsay Key was attending a house party near Chandler Boulevard and Arizona Avenue on Dec. 3, 2006, when a vehicle drove by the home and the passengers opened fire. Key was killed and five others were injured.
According to Chandler police Sgt. Joe Favazzo, four men believed to be responsible for the shooting are now in custody.
Favazzo said Rodrigo Romero and Francisco Cervantes were in custody on other charges and, earlier this year, were additionally booked on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault and assisting a criminal street gang.
Favazzo said Silent Witness tips and witnesses who came forward led investigators to two additional suspects.
U.S. marshals and officers from the Chandler Police Department Gang Unit and Criminal Apprehension Unit arrested Andres Fraire, 22, of Chandler, and Leonardo Sanchez, 24, of Apache Junction on Friday.
Fraire and Sanchez were booked for first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Favazzo said more charges are expected.
Police believe there may be additional suspects involved in the case.
