PHOENIX -- Police have arrested two people on sex trafficking charges in a case where the alleged victim is a 15-year-old girl.
Police were called to a fast food restaurant located near 3500 West Peoria Avenue by the teen who said she had been forced into prostitution.
Detectives learned the 15-year-old met 18-year-old Kiauana Marie Clark online on a social networking site.
Clark befriended the victim and convinced the victim to meet her at a hotel near 8300 West McDowell Road.
Once at the hotel, the victim met 27-year-old Marquel Lamar Watson.
Photos of the victim and Clark were taken and placed in online ads. Over the course of the next two days both Clark and the victim were involved in acts of prostitution, according to police.
The money from those acts was then given to Watson.
The alleged victim called family members on Thursday and told them she was being held against her will.
The suspects were contacted by detectives and when interviewed, both made incriminating statements.
Watson was booked into jail on 2 counts of sex trafficking. Clark is facing charges of sex trafficking
and possession of dangerous drugs.
