PHOENIX- A Christmas tradition is coming to the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix. "The Nutcracker" ballet will be entertaining people for three days. The production is put on by Master Ballet Academy that is owned by choreographer and artistic director Slawomir Wozniak and his wife Irena.
This version of "The Nutcracker" includes pre-professional and professional dancers. In fact, one of the ballerinas is considered to be the second best in the nation.
"We have a few guest artists joining us from around the world especially for this production. And some of the performers are worldwide known," Wozniak said.
Through Ballet and Friends, the non-profit organization which sponsors this production, the dancers have performed vignettes of "The Nutcracker" for children in hospitals across the Valley.
Additionally, they partner each year with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Toys for Tots program to provide gifts and hope for less fortunate children in the community.
