PHOENIX -- This cooler, breezy weather makes it the perfect time to go on bike rides.  But how do you pick the best bicycle for you and your family members?

Jessica Maier from Mesa's new Performance Bicycle joined Stella Inger on Monday's Good Morning Arizona with some ideas. The store doesn't even open until Friday, but Jessica let us in early to give us some advice on picking the right bicycle.

She says the first thing you need to do is figure out what kind of riding you want to do. "You've got to figure out whether you want to do mountain biking, recreational, commuting, or just a stroll around the park," Jessica says.

If you're just starting out as a bike rider, you might want to consider a hybrid, a commuting bike. "It comes with entry-level components so it lasts awhile," she says. "So you can rely on it go from two miles, to 20."

If you just want to take leisurely rides, a cruiser bike is a good choice. Those range from about $250 to $450.

And for kids, there's a variety of training wheel and size choices, depending on their age and skill level.

Performance Bicycle is located at Southern and Power in Mesa. The grand opening is this weekend, and will feature plenty of sales and good deals.
