MESA -- You could call it the mother of all consignment sales.
Moms and expectant moms all over the valley are gearing up for The Savvy Sale, Arizona's largest kids' consignment event. It offers everything for babies to teens, at 50-90 percent off retail price
The Savvy Sale is a great place to shop and stretch your family's budget in these tough economic times. You can buy your child's entire summer wardrobe for a fraction of what you'd spend retail.
Shoppers will be able to find just about anything they need: children's furniture, baby gear, toys, DVDs, games, books, baby items, clothing, outdoor toys, bikes, maternity clothes, even gently-used designer purses, and more.
The event's organizers say it's not just used items you'll find here, but brand new ones too.
"You will find everything you need, including items with tags," they told Stella Inger on Thursday's Good Morning Arizona. "After that baby shower, you seem to get a tremendous amount of items you're never able to use."
You'll also find brand name big items like strollers at a fraction of the price.
Thousands of people are expected to show up and shop in the 40,000 sqaure foot sale area. Some compare the event to Black Friday. Organizers say that people will be lining up outside the doors for hours beforehand. (And even though rain is predicted, the church does have a covered area to wait.
The event takes place at Spring of Life Church at 1330 S. Crismon Road in Mesa, near US 60. Hours are Friday from 1pm to 7pm & Saturday from 8am to1pm. It's a $1 entry fee for shoppers.
